Welcome to Camp Opemikon!
Since 1938, Camp Opemikon has served the camping needs of more than half a million members of the Scouting family. The camp is owned and operated by Scouts Canada, Voyageur Council, and is one of the finest residential Scout camps in Canada. Opemikon has welcomed Campers from other parts of Canada and around the world. Like- minded groups are welcome to book as well
This camp is located on the southern tip of the Canadian Shield on Christie Lake, 100 km southwest of Ottawa. This idyllic camp on more than 200 acres of rugged terrain, nestled among three pristine lakes, provides the perfect Scouting adventure away from busy roads and crowded cities.
If you are a 3rd party, like-minded organization and would like to create a booking with Camp Opemikon, please note that you will be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance naming Scouts Canada as an additional insured on a Comprehensive General Liability policy in force, valid for the full duration of the rental period, in an amount no lesser than $2M, once your booking has been submitted.
3rd party, like-minded organizations will also be required to sign a contract which will be issued by our team upon completion of your booking.
(Girl Guides of Canada groups are exempt from these requirements.)

School & Educational Groups / Weekday Rentals

We welcome school groups, educational programs, and weekday bookings. Options include:
- Low-cost tenting
- Unheated cabins
- Four-season powered & heated lodges
Schools can book by selecting the “School Groups – Overnight” option (Monday–Friday). Other third-party groups, please email info@opemikon.org for availability. Catering/meal plans are also available to support your program.
Please note:
*Effective March 31, 2023, Camp Opemikon, will be accepting bookings up to 1 year in advance on a rolling schedule automatically.
Request to cancel a booking with more than 4 weeks' notice: 20% non-refundable deposit can be transferred to a new booking within the same fiscal year - September 1st to August 31st. (the 20% deposit can not be transferred to a pre-existing booking)
