Greetings Campers! We are thrilled to welcome active Scouts Canada members, active Scouts Canada volunteers, Scouts Canada staff, and their families to Opemikon this summer for some good ol' fashioned summer camp fun, with a twist. Family Adventure Camp has been designed to provide a genuine, all-access Scouts Canada camping and programming experience for youth AND adults in a safe and COVID-19 mindful environment. Guests have access to a variety of overnight accommodations, all of Camp's natural beauty to explore, waterfront equipment to enjoy, a daily list of instructor-led program stations to choose from and self-directed program materials to utilize.

Guests may also visit Opemikon with an All Access Day Pass, which does not include overnight accommodation or evening/night time programming. 


Before you book we'd like to go over some of your options, what to expect, and how to proceed. 

When booking an overnight stay, you'll notice that the price includes Overnight + All Access Family Pass. This per night, all-inclusive booking provides:

  • Accommodation
  • Parking
  • Trail, beach, and property access
  • Use of canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, PFD's and boat safety equipment
  • Access to all instructor-led program stations including archery, paddling, guided hikes, ecology, low ropes, and astronomy & star-gazing
  • Unlimited access to self-directed program materials including orienteering, shelter building, fire building, geocaching, knot skills, arts and crafts, ecology, and more! 

All Access Day Pass visitors your pass includes everything listed above less the accommodations and instructor-led astronomy & star-gazing.  

Each tent site and cabin has a private bathroom or kybo (outhouse) with handwashing stations. All cabins except for the Venturer cabin are equipped with showers. There is no shower access for tent sites. 

Day Pass visitors have access to 3 centrally located kybos (outhouses) equipped with handwashing stations. These facilities are deep cleaned every 2 hours. 

Drinking water is available to all at the center of camp, at every kybo with a tap, and in each cabin other than the Venturer cabin.

Sunday: 8:30am-2pm 

Check In: 1PM

Check Out: 10AM

Guests are welcome to arrive and check in any time between 1pm and 7pm. Check in before 1pm and past 7pm is not permitted

Guests are required to check out of their accommodation or site by 10am, but are welcome to continue enjoying camp until 1pm. Signing out at the camp office upon departure is required

►Orientation and sign-in is required upon arrival

►Opemikon is closed to the public from Sunday at 2pm until Tuesday at 1pm


Minimizing the risk for COVID-19 transmission and maximizing opportunities for fun & adventure is the goal at Family Adventure Camp! Here are a few things to keep in mind when booking and during your visit:

  • Each member of your booking party should be part of one family bubble. Visitors will be required to maintain their bubble and stay safely distanced from others at all times 
  • Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult from their family bubble at all times. This includes program stations, trails, beach, picnic areas, during play and all other activities 
  • In order to track capacity, sign-up systems are in place for programming stations and for the use of popular camp areas such as the beach. Sign-up for each activity and area opens at 8:30AM daily at the camp office. Participants and visitors must sign-up in advance of participation or use
  • Masks are required during all group programming, at the camp office, in public bathrooms, at water stations, and in any other area or circumstance where close contacts (even in passing) may occur
  • Pets are not permitted
  • Alcohol, cannabis, and all other drugs are strictly prohibited
  • Smoking is not permitted on-site


NOTE: Eastern Ontario is home to an active black bear population. Proper food storage and garbage disposal is essential for the safety and well-being of all Opemikon visitors (the human kind AND the animal kind). Guests who book at a walk-in or paddle-in site must to come prepared to hang their food and waste in a tree using a bear bag or other safe storage container, or to return their food and waste each day to their vehicle and/or to the designated garbage containers at the main camp.  

Guests at all cabins and tent sites will be required to properly store and dispose of food and waste. This information will be reviewed and discussed upon check-in. In the meantime, please see this link to for more information on how to be bear aware. 



How to Book

Cabin bookings will open on May 17th. Tent site bookings will open on May 27th. Day passes will be available for purchase mid-June.

Booking a Cabin

To book a cabin, under search criteria you must always select the Tuesday or the Friday of your preferred week in order to see what is available.
