More about Yoho Scout Reserve

Located about 20 minutes along the Hanwell Road outside Fredericton on Yoho Lake. The camp consists of 700 acres of forest and offers a sandy lakefront for water activities.

There are two all-season lodges. The Jensen Lodge with a wood stove for heating and a propane stove for cooking, as well as propane lights, is suitable for small groups. The newly constructed Bair Lodge with electrical facilities can accommodate two large groups. The new lodge is fully contained, complete with showers, washrooms and a large kitchen and dining area.

There are also outdoor camping opportunities for older youth in a tenting area located at the Miller Campground which includes several camp sites and small buildings. The camp has an extensive Nature Trail, canoeing resources and a baseball field.

the Yoho Scout Lodge is the Jewel of the Yoho Scout Reserve. It is located about 20 minutes south of Fredericton on the Hanwell Road (Route 640) on Yoho Lake. The Yoho Scout Reserve consists of 700 acres of forested land with extensive nature trails. The lake offers a sandy lakefront beach/dock area for water activities, with canoeing resources available for rent. There is also an outdoor chapel and a large playing field.

Please inquire about rates for non-Scouting groups.

The Yoho Lodge has two wings the Main Wing, and the Chad O’Quinn Wing. If you want to book the entire lodge, you must book both wings

The Main Wing is fully contained, complete with showers, washrooms and a large kitchen and dining area. You can sleep up to 51 people in the Main Wing.

The Chad O’Quinn Wing is fully contained. It has a small kitchenette, with a fridge/freezer, microwave and warming plate. It has full washroom facilities, including showers. You can sleep up to 36 people in the O’Quinn Wing.

The Jensen Lodge is a rustic cabin that is suitable for small group use. It opened in 1978 and is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Jensen. This cabin is situated next to the lake about 200 meters south of the Yoho Scout Lodge. The cabin has a capacity of ten people. It is a one-room structure, heated by a wood-burning stove, has propane appliances and is lighted by propane lanterns. The cabin is serviced with off-site outhouses. The cabin is nestled on the lake and is on the South Loon Watch Trail. The cabin was refurbished in 2017.

In 1984 the G.L. Miller Camping Area was opened. Significant improvements to the property were implemented about 1996 when the Interpretation Centre was built as well as several picnic shelters, a large campfire circle, and new campsites. The Miller campground area has 24 unserviced campsites. It is accessible by a dirt road. Some of the campsites have fire rings or fire pits. Outhouses are nearby. Water is available from the well near the Interpretation Centre. The interpretation center provides a sheltered space for instruction and study of the natural resources of the Yoho Scout Reserve. The building has electrical power and a well nearby.
