Welcome to Langley Park!
Langley Park Scout Reserve is owned by the local Rotary Club, but has been managed for years by Scouts Canada, Kawartha Waterways Area. It is bisected by the Cavanville Creek which is shallow in summer and great for catching small creek critters for environmental studies. Some fishing is possible. There are large group camping areas, with three large open fields for gatherings. The main field has a monument and flag pole. The south side of creek has 4 hectares of mature cedar woods for winter outings.
There are many attractions in Peterborough just minutes away such as the Canadian Canoe Museum, Centennial Museum and Archives, Art Gallery, Peterborough Lift-lock, and the Peterborough Wellness Centre that has a swimming pool with a water slide. There is a go-cart track located on the other side of Peterborough at Wild Water and Wheels.
Fire barrels are available on site. Poison ivy is present, but not in great amounts and only in localized areas. There is a seasonal bridge that enable access to the other side of the creek, but no outhouses are present there. Formal campfire site has podium and bench seating. Parking lot is gravel and is not plowed in the winter.
